In certain Christian circles, the phrase "God is Good" is often answered by "all the time!" And "all the time" ... "God is good." Have you heard it?
Well, I've never been a huge fan of cliches in church - I think they are easy to say with no heart behind them. We are quick to answer others with responses like
"God is in control!"
"God knows what's best."
"God can do anything."
Please, don't get me wrong. I know these statments are TRUE. Unfortunately, we are quick to use them whether or not we truly believe them in our heart or not.
Recently, I was involved in a car accident. Well, actually it was a scooter vs. taxi accident. The taxi won, and my scooter and I lost. My injuries were pretty minimal, all things considered. I have a lot to be thankful for.
I dislocated my right hip and in doing so, broke off a piece of my pelvic bone. Other than that, my only injury was a cut on my left knee that required just a few stitches. We have pictures of the 20 cm incision/staples and the stitches, but I'll save those for another time.
The hospital/nursing system is quite different here, requiring that patients have a helper with them at all times during their hospital stay. So, Cory and I spent 10 days in the hospital. He did things for me that we thought we'd never even talk about until we were at least 70! They have not always been easy moments but God has brought us close together during this time. Cory has been so supportive and helpful, doing almost everything for the both of us, in addition to working and going to school. He is amazing and I covet your prayers for him.
I am home now and trying to make my way through the recovery process. So many have already shown their support and prayed for us during this challenging time, for which we are grateful! We have much to tell in the next weeks ... some hilarious hospital stories, for one thing!
So why did I start this post with my tyrade? Because I have said and thought often lately that "God is Good." But it hasn't been some thoughtless comment. It has been because that I know that whatever state I am in, God is in control of my life and has never left my side through this incident. May He make Himself known to YOU today, because HE IS GOOD.

My pastor often says that "God is good...all the time" phrase, and he is quick to point out that even when things do not go well, God is still good.
Glad to hear that you are home and on the mend...saw tidbits of your ordeal on FB. May the God who is good all the time grant you complete healing. *Hugs across the miles*
We have been praying for your speedy recovery. God bless both of you.
Jenn, Cory posted this on his facebook and I commented. I was like WHAAAT! You poor girl! I bet on the hospital bed you saw a hundred korean faces saying, "No taeku scoota...Itchu bedy dangerous!"
Oh gosh, so sorry about that. How are you feeling now? Do you think you'll ride again in Korea?
