A Few Random Pics - 4 Months Old Today!

Loving Daddy-time

I'm a CCS Lion!

Mommy thinks I'm working on teeth already ...

Daddy likes me to have belly time!

Mommy likes to kiss my neck rolls.

100 Days old and Mommy is already giving me cupcakes! (not really)

This is how I usually wake up.

I'm having so much fun these days!

Making Noises

Esther LOVES making this noise ... not sure where she learned it!

A Visit to Lake Park

We took Esther up to Ilsan where we lived when we first moved to Korea. There is a beautiful park where we used to walk Snickers that we wanted to explore again.

Esther begins to talk ...

I'm not skilled at all when it comes to editing video, but wanted to let the family see and hear Esther's noise-making!

6 Weeks Ago Today ...

... we had one of the most amazing experiences of our lives - the birth of little Esther! She is growing so fast, eating well, and sleeping great (most of the time)!

Tummy time with Daddy

First Days at School

We are now phasing back into work schedules and will start back full time next week - Mommy loves her job but is not exactly ready to go back to work yet!

Million Dollar Smiles

It's hard to believe, but Esther will be 4 weeks old tomorrow!

We LOVED having "Gig" here with us (Grandma Larkin)! Gig has since returned home and Esther's grandma from the Dyck side, known as "Mimi" is coming tomorrow. What a blessed family we are to have such support from our parents, even though we live halfway across the world from them!

I know people say that at this age if a baby is smiling it's probably just gas, but I have to say that Esther sure seems to smile in response to voices, sounds, and touch. She even responded to a story I told her the other day. Let me explain ...

I, Jen, was looking at her little fingers and fingernails the other day as I held her, determining whether or not it was time for another trim. We don't want her scratching her face, but I have to admit I don't enjoy clipping her tiny little nails. At any rate, I noticed that she had one fingernail on one hand that was kind of jagged - then I took note of which fingernail it was so that I could trim it while she slept. It happened to be the ring finger of her left hand, and so I told her that someday a boy was going to want to put a ring on that finger and he had better be a good, Godly young man that would take good care of her. She SMILED. No joke, right on cue. I felt, heard, saw no signs of gas. I think she understood. ;)

Week Two

Esther has enjoyed spending time with Gig (Grandma Larkin) this past week! She is quick to snuggle and smile in Gig's arms!

She is also pleased that Mommy and Daddy are getting better at giving baths ... I think!

What a happy baby we have! Her Korean name suits her so well - she is truly a gift from God!

And the Blessings Begin

Getting ready to come home

Dear friends,

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the nearly 100 we've already taken in the last few days! We are sure to have lots of stories as we go, so will try to be much more faithful about keeping up with the blog. It won't be such a hard task during the summer since we are both off work (technically), but once school starts again in August I know it will be a challenge - more about that later!

Hanging out with Daddy

"Whew, I'm tired!"

She is SO alert sometimes!

Another cute view of her feet!

Waiting for the doctor to say we could go home!

Snickers wasn't quite sure what to do ...

Today is Day 2 at home, and Snickers wants to be right there with the baby ALL the time! She is constantly at our feet and has even trotted off into the other room at the sound of Esther's cry - as if she's checking on her! What a great dog!

Stay tuned for more!
